Why 2023 is the most important season for the Michigan Wolverines
Introductory Post: Brief analysis on the significance of the upcoming 2023 season
When I first stepped into the Big House with my father and grandfather, I knew I was witnessing history. It was an unparalleled feeling. Millions around the world feel the same about Michigan football.
Michigan football enters its most important season in living memory. Coming off two Big 10 championships and 2 playoff appearances, the year is now to make a national title push.
JJ McCarthy is the best Michigan quarterback we’ve seen in decades. We have the 2 best running backs in college football. The offensive line has been the best in the country for back to back seasons. Our defense returns almost all of its starters, with multiple all-Americans. Our recruiting has been better than ever, with multiple 5 stars like Daxton Hill and Donovan Edwards coming through the program recently.
Michigan has all the momentum in the world right now. They are fully prepared for a title run, and have the resources to do so. This is why 2023 is such a huge year for the program. In my opinion, this is the first time in about 30 years where Michigan fans can realistically say “this is a championship team.”
When I was growing up, Michigan was a mediocre football team. They would always get killed by Ohio State and Penn State, and never made much noise. But in the past few years, Michigan football has been at the top. We may only have a couple seasons left of this dominance. I hope to explore these next few historic years with you all.
